Things I Have To Share So My Head Doesn't Explode
I know what you’re thinking: don’t you have a husband, a family, friends, a therapist, a dog, etc. you can share your thoughts with and the answer is yes.
However, that’s a lot of socializing for someone who finds socializing exhausting especially when it means having to say the same things over and over. It’s not like I can hold one big zoom meeting a week and talk AT people. Or can I?
That’s what this blog is for. Putting it here kind of kills all those people with one blog post you know?
That’s not to say that given the opportunity I don’t tell these things to every single person I see. Ask Jeff. He’ll tell you that I often unload every single thing that’s in my brain before he’s even had his morning coffee. He definitely loves it and doesn’t want to strangle me at all. Till death do us part. Right, Jeff?
Here’s the thing, I’m a chronic oversharer — not only about my life but about all the fun, inspiring, thought-provoking things that interest me. My neurodivergent brain loves to info-dump. It brings me joy and sometimes it brings other people joy, too.
Then there’s the other reality that sharing it all here is helpful though for those times I don’t have the energy to catch up with the people in my life. Those times when I’m so overwhelmed that even writing a text message is too much. I promise I’m not ignoring your calls/emails/texts: these blog posts are just a huge reply-all. (Note - please stop replying all. )
Since I’ve recently vowed to start using Instagram as more of a backup to my blog rather than the other way around, I’ve had to practice some restraint this week and not share every single thing on my IG story in real-time. The other day, I started to write a caption and then stopped and saved it to share here. Please clap. It was hard to do.
So what I’m trying to say is: this blog post is just a random list of things from the week that I found ridiculous, inspiring, or interesting. It’s kind of like my "Currently" Blog Posts but less structured and more random. A lot like my brain.
Enjoy.
Or don’t.
I don’t care.
