Hey guys!! The surprise baby shower for my sister in law was a success! She was very surprised!

There was tons of food! For starters, there was huge display of veggies and crackers:

I was still pretty full from my Luna Bar so my plate looked like this

I also had a cracker with a grape tomato and cheese on top plus a few more veggies

I sipped on Sparkling Raspberry-Lime Water the whole day

This stuff was so good! I’m going to have to pick some up at the store!

The shower was at my sister in law’s mother’s house, so my mom ordered food from a very good local pizza/Italian restaurant to cater for lunch

I filled half my plate with salad and sampled a little bit of everything on the other half

I took extras of the bowtie pasta and roasted vegetables

All the food was so good! I know my plate looks huge but I promise the majority of it was salad!

The theme of the  baby’s nursery is The Very Hungry Caterpillar so my brother’s mother in law made a cake to match the theme

So cute!!!! For dessert, I had half of one of the green cupcakes with most of the too sweet icing wiped off and a whole bunch of fruit salad

I ate all of this amazing food at around 4:00 and wasn’t hungry again until almost 8:30. I had half a cup of coffee with skim milk in between

I heated up a small plate of leftovers for “dinner” (more like a snack)

After my dinner/snack, my brother, David, his fiancee, Angela, and I headed to my favorite local ice cream stand- Hoyer’s

I can’t believe that this was my first time at Hoyer’s this summer! I used to go there all the time when I was younger. This place brings back great childhood memories! They have the best soft serve around! I thought about getting hard frozen yogurt but I decided against it because I was really craving their soft ice cream. I ordered a small chocolate/vanilla twist cup

I know what you’re thinking: That’s a small?!?!? They sure are generous with their portions. I totally splurged and ate the whole thing! I had to! It’s Hoyer’s!! I don’t feel bad at all either because this is one of the few times I’ll be visiting Hoyer’s this summer. I was very happy with my choice.

I’m heading back to Albany tomorrow!!! I am so excited to get to my apartment and Jeff! I miss my kitchen and my bed! Now I am off to bed.

What’s your favorite local thing to splurge on?

Have a great night!!
