Energy Bars & Horse Traffic Jams!
Happy Weekend! I am heading to my sister-in-law’s surprise baby shower in a couple minutes but wanted to do a quick post to recap my morning!
I woke up around 8 and ate a fried egg and 1 piece of sourdough toast with peanut butter

I made an egg for my father too!

After breakfast, I went on a 1/2 hour run/walk. I figured since it was my first tine attempting a run outside of the gym, I’d take it slow and not run the whole time. While I was running up a hill, I stopped because there were a bunch of cop cars and people standing around. I asked someone what happened and the answer I got was ridiculous. For some reason there were horses in the middle of street and one of them had hurt their hoof

I had to take a picture! Traffic was being detoured onto side roads! This was the most ridiculous thing ever. I don’t even know why there were horses to begin with! There must have been some type of parade in town or something.
Anyway, my run/walk was successful. I hope to build up to more running and less walking soon! Thanks for all your advice! It really helped me out!
I realized that I forgot something at work yesterday, so I drove there to pick it up. Since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped at Starbucks for a Grande Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee with Skim Milk

YUM! I also picked up some goodies at CVS

I am so excited for the Clif Chocolate Almond Fudge flavor! I have also never tried a Lara Bar so I’m excited for that as well. There is going to be a A LOT of food at the baby shower so to make sure I don’t go overboard, I ate the Luna Bar a couple minutes ago

Now, I’m just waiting for my mom to be ready and then I’m off to a baby shower full of yummy Italian food and salad!
I’ll take tons of pictures of the food for you to stare at, don’t worry!!
What is your favorite bar to snack on?
Have a great afternoon!!

Rebecca, I just tried the Peanut Butter Lara Bar for the first time. I have read that some didn’t like it, but for a bar, I thought it was quite tasty. I don’t eat alot of bars, because I find alot to be too artificial tasting, for my liking. I do like the Lara Bar’s , to keep around, when I am in a crunch to eat something. The very basic ingredients which make the bars up, healthy fats and usually around 200 calories all make it to be a good choice.
I’m excited to hear about your running, Rebecca! Hope that horse turns out ok :)
Oooh! I LOVE Clif Zbars mid-afternoon (to beat the stomach grumbles pre-run). My faves are the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip. They’re small and tasty :)
D- I was actually pretty hesitant to buy the PB Lara Bar because I usually don’t like peanut butter flavored things. I love eating PB out of the jar but cookies and bars just don’t do it for me. I guess we’ll see!
Val- Thanks for the encouragement! I’m sure the horse is fine :-)
Karena- I love Zbars too. I don’t care that they are meant for kids. They are the perfect size for a mid day snack! I love the brownie one!
