Oh Whole Foods, I Adore You

2009 July 9

Hey all! Today went by so fast! I can’t believe it’s 10:00 already. I just got back from a fun night out with my friends,  Dara and Jessica. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and Whole Foods. More on that in a bit. First I’ll recap today’s eats.

Breakfast was this

9-7oatmeal2

Kashi Creamy Vanilla Hot Cereal with 1/2 a banana, peaches, and almond butter :-)

This cereal had 7 grams of fiber and kept me full until 12!! It was so good!

Lunch was pretty pathetic

9-7cant

Cantaloupe/Peaches and  Turkey on an Arnold Select multi-grain sandwich thin with spinach and cucumbers

I managed to escape the office for a few and grabbed some Starbucks

Grande Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee with Skim Milk

My afternoon snack consisted of Guiltless Gourmet Blue Corn Chips and this

9=7hummus

This hummus looked interesting and it tasted good. The only thing that will prevent me from getting it again is that it contains high fructose corn syrup. I noticed this after I bought it because I was in a rush at the store. I almost wanted to return it. I only had a tablespoon. I’ll definitely leave it for my parents to eat because I’d rather not have that additive in my food, thanks. The chips were amazing though!! I definitely recommend them!

After work, I headed to meet my friends Dara and Jessica at the Cheesecake Factory. I am truly turned off by the majority of their menu selections because many of them contain over 1000 calories. I managed to do pretty well. I ordered the Weight Management Grilled Chicken

The portion was still humongous. The whole meal contains 590 calories. I packed half to take home. Here is the description from the menu:

Lightly Pounded Chicken Breast Charbroiled and Topped with a Tomato and Arugula Salad. Garnished with Steamed White Rice and Asparagus

This was actually really good and light. This is what I ended up taking home

Now you know what I’ll be having for lunch tomorrow.

After dinner, we wandered into Whole Foods Market where I stared at everything and bought a yummy dessert9-7wholefoods

This is a Vegan Double Chocolate Chip Cookie. It was amazing!! I also bought a Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookie, A Jumble Cookie, Luna Bars, Z Bars, and Oikos. I love Whole Foods!! I wish there was one in Albany.

What is your favorite treat to buy at Whole Foods/your grocery store?

Have a great night!!

I love to get WF “vegan chocolate mousse” – back when I worked there one summer during grad school, my customers raved about it – even those who werent even vegetarian or vegan! It’s pretty awesome, try it sometime!!!

Also, FYI Rebecca I am having a Holey Donuts giveaway on my blog until next Wednesday if you are interested :)

Love Whole Foods! I don’t know if they still have these, but I used to love these graham cracker-like cookies that were shaped like pretzels (they came in these clear plastic mini-tubs). They we’re addictive!

My all-time favorite treat is the cinnamon oatmeal cookie gelato! If your Whole Foods has a gelato counter, you have to try it!

I’ve never been to a Whole Foods–I’m actually going to one this weekend so we’ll see what I find! I’m excited!
